How to Choose a Dice Tower for D&D
A good dice tower has to do more than look impressive. It should accept the dice you actually use, roll them reliably, and fit comfortably on your table.
1. Check the dice-entry opening
Dice sets vary, especially oversized D20s and novelty dice. Measure the widest dimension of your largest die and compare it with the opening. The entrance isn't the only constraint: the internal rolling path and exit must also accommodate that die. Don't assume that a large mouth guarantees oversized-dice compatibility.
2. Look for a controlled catching area
A built-in tray helps keep dice on the table and out of miniatures, maps and drinks. In sculptural models, look closely at how the catch area is formed; it's easy to miss in a small product thumbnail.
3. Consider tabletop footprint
Height draws attention, but width and front-to-back depth determine the space the tower uses. A dramatic sculptural tower may need more room than a simple vertical design. Compare all three dimensions before ordering.
4. Understand 3D-print materials
PLA plastic is common for decorative tabletop accessories. Expect some visible layer lines, particularly on curved and detailed surfaces. A high-detail photograph of the actual product is more useful than a purely rendered image when judging finish.
5. Ask what is included
Confirm whether dice are included, whether the tower is assembled, the eye or color variant offered, and whether the seller makes the item to order. Small variations can affect both appearance and lead time.

Quick pre-purchase checklist
Measure your dice; compare the entry and internal passage, check the footprint, view photographs of the actual finish, confirm color options, and read the processing and shipping details.
